the fact its took you until 16:20 of the second season to possibly make that distinction is interesting. you're both so sweet and positive about people.

lmao this intro conversation hahahah "All but confirmed" and any variant of that turn of phrase is like having *allllll* the implications, everything lining up perfectly, and just needing the laaaast, final bit of "official" actual, no-dispute proof/confirmation/evidence to make it official. So, I mean, you're both basically on the same page about it XD RE: the intro to 2x3, Mars training in "1G" or Earth's gravity literally means they're training to fight Earth (which has higher gravity than Mars), so Martian soldiers are not only extremely comfortable in scenarios that mean war with Earth, they're also exceptional soldiers on Mars itself. Think of Earth as the old world, bursting at the seams with old problems and long-standing divides. Mars is a civilization unbound from Earth heritage for generations now, united in their common goal of building their own home into a paradise. United in a common dream, and the nature of Mars (it's literal environment) means it's all uphill, and all requiring painstaking hard work and sacrifice, and all the heart that goes into forging it for themselves. They are fresh, driven, and cutting edge in service of their goals. Earth is their main rival, literally the only government that can get in the way or complicate the solar system. Mars is a red planet, and we think of Earth as a blue planet. Remember the Donnie? Remember the blue "battle lighting"? To them, militarily, blue represents "enemy" in basically the exact same way that we, you and I here on Earth think of *red* as danger, caution, and alarms. We've all seen red lighting used that way. Interesting. To them, Earther society is a bloated relic, symbol of excess, neglect, and arrogance, so they're as oriented to confront Earth as they are to build their utopia. To them, those paths *will* intersect.

You know what they say, you can build a thousand ships and people will call you a ship builder... but butcher one space station and from then on you're the butcher.
