Full Length Reaction Guide
We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync. Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen. For me, one of the things that this show does best is make us think about what moral lines we would cross to survive. Would I sacrifice myself for a stranger? Would I be willing to sacrifice someone else to survive? We see these characters have to make these choices over and over.

My comment on Shane got a lot of hate because people want to see heroes on tv but that’s why I love this show - because it just shows you human nature. How quickly do people start cutting each other off in traffic when it gets thick or not letting people in front? Or trampling over each other when there’s a dangerous situation in a densely populated area? Do two drowning people not try pull each other down to reach the surface? People don’t even have to be “bad” people for this to happen. Have there not been videos of assaults that bystanders just stood by and watched without intervening? That’s human behavior without flesh eating reanimated corpses coming after them. Coming to Shane’s defense on his choice isn’t saying he’s right or wrong it’s just saying there IS a defense to be made there because he’s a human in a dire situation and no one knows what they’d do until their back is against that wall. It’s entertaining to entertain both sides. Don’t be so hurt

2025-08-01 09:54:20 +0000 UTCWhen I was a teenager and I watched this show for the first time it was a turning point for me cos its the first sort of gory show that I made myself watch with the brutal and horrifying deaths, my dad wanted me to watch zombie films with him when i was a kid but the first time i saw a guy get eaten I was like nah thanks, then this show made me deal with it cos the characters and stories were so compelling. When I saw Otis' death for the first time I muted it lol. However, you guys will be traumatised in the future. Many times. Will be glorious

From what I could see they had a massive gap between themselves and the zombies, long enough for Shane to spend 30 seconds beating the shit out of Otis instead of them both just carrying on to the truck. It's not a decision any rational person would even think of, but one he will make because he's a piece of shit and it's how he thinks. Literally took them less than a minute to justify it too 😂

Shane cares more for Carl than Otis, a stranger he met what, a day ago, who accidentally shot Carl? The highlight of the episode is absolutely Rick's defense of life itself. Even in a brutal end of times situation, there's beauty to be found, and love. But it's so easy to forget that point when you're muck deep in guts trying to survive another hour. That said, the hardest part of the apocalypse for me would be the lack of donuts. COME ON how can anyone justify life without pastries?

There was no danger of leading them to the farm because they had a vehicle. Shane killed Otis because he's a piece of shit. Otis had several opportunities to leave Shane there but he didn't. The show has taken every opportunity to show you that deep down, Shane is a bastard. If you wont drink the water, its on you. You can ask yourself if youd have the same reaction if Otis saw Shane's ankle and shot him in the same way, leaving him to die. See if you would rationalize it the same way.

I think Shane thought that if he shot Otis in the head the walkers might pass him by. I think that’s also why they had Daryl and Andrea see the guy who hung himself. To establish that the walkers will eat the recently dead, and maybe Andrea and Daryl are the only ones who know this now.

Shane did what he thought was needed and I again don’t see Rick as a white knight and we don’t know how he would’ve reacted in Shane’s position with Otis because he also makes the hard choices, imo he makes the harder decisions more than Shane , what Shane normally does are the easier choices like leaving people behind bc he doesn’t really care . Rick makes the decision normally to help if one of his group are in trouble if they have a chance while Shane leaves them behind and that’s why I said last time is the reason he won’t make a good leader like Rick.

Didn’t try very hard though 🌚 Fair enough since Otis had kind of proven himself to be the weakest link anyhow. Shane alive as opposed to him is more useful in this case if we’re leaving our hearts out of it 😆
