Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

The Walking Dead 2x6 Uncut Reaction

Comments

You guys criticize everyone - Rick, Laurie, Maggie, Hershall, Glen, Dale, Andrea - sometimes rightly and sometimes wrongly, but Shane you bend your selves into pretzels to come up with justifications and defences for every reprehensible thing he does and also heap huge, disproportionate praise on anything even the slightest bit decent he does.

Michael Rawson

I will never understand how people defend Shane's actions. I think he's right about some of the "tough calls" you have to make in this world but his approach is all wrong. The man's a selfish hot-head who uses his obsession with Lori and Carl as an excuse for everything he does. Dale has every reason to believe Shane is a danger to the group and I don't think he overstepped at all.

I look forward to season 8 when I can be "watching for the first time" again. I've seen seasons 1-7 a few times. It's been a few years time since I've watched TWD reaction. This is such a fun way to redo the first 7 seasons and I'm pumped for 8-11. Spartan and Pudgey really are great with their commentary.

Sharpgirl

Dale dont know shhhit

Milf and Cookies

Shane is the luckiest guy out here in the apocalypse

Milf and Cookies

Dale out there seeing all the signs from Shane that Pudgey and Spartan don't wanna see lol. Everything he said was true so...

Oriana Lo Presti

I agree most people in a post-apocalyptic world would turn into some variant of Shane. But most people, myself included, hope we could retain our humanity and be Rick or Dale or Glenn.

Paul

🌟[Sorry if someone mentioned it already, not gunna go through every episodes comments😅lol] but keep an eye on the graphics of the title card "THE WALKING DEAD" when you hit new seasons ;)🌟 😁😁

This is the biggest cope I’ve ever seen , Rick wasn’t even far away , it would kill him no question from that distance.

JonSnow21

Just to be clear, because I think a lot of people might not realize this, the scene from season 1 where Shane pointed the shotgun at Rick in the woods…. There is no chance he could have killed Rick there. It’s a shotgun not a rifle and there were a million trees in between. Also quite a distance. Shotguns are for close shots. Even if the rounds he was using had a slug in them there were too many trees and Rick was too far away…. Shane would have to be the best marksman in world history to take out Rick. And the best marksman in world history would absolutely choose a different firearm if he actually wanted to kill Rick. Yes it is significant that he pointed the shotgun at Rick but that just tells me Shane thought he finally had it, a beautiful woman, an adopted son, both of whom he cares deeply about, and if only Rick never came back he’d still have it. So yes the thought that life would be better for Shane if Rick was gone crossed his mind but even if Dale was not there there is zero chance Shane pulls the trigger. On the flip side, it could be the writers’ ignorance about guns. Just in this episode alone we see Shane referred to as the best firearms instructor, yet he doesn’t even attempt to cobble together some kind of ear protection? You never practice without ear protection and even if it’s just cotton balls or Maggie’s old headphones that’s better than nothing.

Glad you made that recommendation! What sets this apart from other zombie type shows is that the walkers are just part of the background and it really develops character arcs incredibly well!

Bill B.

Andrea definitely had a bit of fun at “the Advanced Class” 😉

Rick is exceptionally good at reading people, kinda like Dale . He knew pretty early on in season 1 in a certain scene than confirmed Shane and lori for him and you’ll see when you rewatch it . Dale is kinda spot on about Shane though it was what happened with Andrea that completely ticked him off but when he saw when he held his gun on Rick , that can’t be interpreted in any other way no matter what Shane says and I love Shane as a character but it’s better to accept him for what he is than justify most of his actions though I think Spartan is catching on . I honestly can’t wait for y’all to see Rick’s progression bc he’s obviously miles smarter than Shane , don’t think anyone can deny that , Shane is just not a great leader at heart but he’s a beast while Rick is a beast with a brain, that’s the difference between them in my mind. P.S in the discussion you assumed what you think Shane’s reaction would be to the baby but you’ll find out obviously so try not to use that to compare Rick and Shane .

I like that description: clocking the darkness.

The TV ethics is interesting. In real life if you saw a man who thought that he was alone pointing his shotgun at his best friend and contemplating murdering him, you would never trust him much less defend him. The fact that we know he sacrificed another man to save himself should make it that much harder to defend him. If he was so noble he would of sacrificed himself and let him take the medicine and equipment to Carl. This isn't a critique of Spartan & Pudgey specifically because many many people who have watched the series felt the same way. I just find it interesting how TV skews ethical judgement.

Andrew Ramos

I think with Dale its more that he wants to protect Andrea from Shane cos unlike her and everyone else, he's the only one who's really seen a glimpse into his dark side, and Shane basically threatening him just kinda proves his point more. I also think it's rather telling about Shane that he doesn't like Dale cos Dale is the voice of reason and compassion, he's the one whose humanity is fully untainted in my opinion.

James Waters

To be fair, Dale does usually try and guide everyone the best he can. However with Shane yall have to remember he literally saw shane point his gun at Rick. To him theres probably no justifying that. it definitely scared him. So now he sees Andrea, who he already said made him care again after his wife, and he feels like he has to protect her because Dale is clocking the darkness. He's very observant.

Aya

Bruh Dale was like a hawk this episode. Probably my favorite episode so far. So much drama!

Alex Walker

Good callback on Lori’s earlier comments Pudgey. Her saying “I wish he would just yell at me or tell me I’m being a bitch if that’s what I’m being”, always struck me as her struggling with her own flaws because Rick really has been such a good man - both in general and to her. Both before and after the world ended so far. Seems like shes the one who had some issues both then and now. His self control/emotional strength holds up a mirror to her own short comings and she may think if he’d just yell at her (lose control for once) he’d be less “perfect” and she could feel more “worthy” of him.

ShanB

I want to comment so badly, but I need to save it. This episode answers some questions and gives us more. Hershel is hoping there is some saving of these people who used to be people. He is seeing it from a microcosmic point, but it is his hope for his wife and stepson, Maggie got a very different lesson. The Lori/Rick situation is tough. Lori asking Dale to promise her that her kid could grow old is pretty far fetched. Even in a world like we live in today, no one can promise anyone they will live a long life or not. My youngest brother died at 46 (it was totally unexpected), yet my stepfather just celebrated his 90th birthday this past Wednesday. Since there are no guarantees, we can only live to the best of our ability each day.

Lyn Hurst

Personally it's nice to see someone actually acknowledge Shane’s good sides too. Usually people either hate him like he’s pure "evil" or love him just cause he’s unhinged. They’re actually breaking down the grey areas, talking through his reasoning, the pressure he’s under, and the moments where he’s not just chaos. Makes the convo way more interesting than the usual ‘Shane bad/Shane badass’ takes.

Alexander Oceann

To touch on your last part of the convo - this is exactly why I recommended this show to you guys ages ago and was worried you’d never go for it because you aren’t the biggest of “horror” fans. I was like it’s all about the characters! This show has some of the best in any series.

Yoursinchris

Bro same lmao

Alexander Oceann

Nah bro the Shane glazing is ridiculous 😂💀

Hamad

I'm watching this for the first time with you guys so far and am quite on board with team shane but I have to say Dale has literally been correct about every problem far, and Shane is acting more and more unstable each episode

Fionn Hillman

I literally started the 2x5 episode and thought let me make some food first. Then as im finishing up with cooking my food you post 2x6! The timing couldn't be more perfect!
