We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. This is one of my absolute favorite episodes. I cried, too.

Lauren

The mighty "52" episode hits EVERYBODY! Nobody comes out of this episode with a dry eye! Such a heavy emotional scenario despite using characters we don't even know! Most time it takes characters that have been in a show or movie for some time to get the payoff but here...The Expanse did it! Just one reason out of tons for why I love this show! Now comes the S2 FINALE next and somehow things only get WILDER! Can't wait to see you two in the next episode!!!

Shawn Anomaly

One of my favorite episodes of The Expanse. Hard to keep a dry eye... glad to see you guys have the same allergies. 😉

Chris07

Exactly! Holden was caught between two places, two hard choices (that seemed impossible at the time for him). I love the whole crew. Alex coming in clutch too.

Paul

Holden went full Captain Ahab. The acting combined with the musical score really bring the story to life! Can’t wait for the second half of season three!!!

Such an amazing episode! Looks like Spartan almost cried! The 52 scene will ALWAYS make me cry. Such a powerful scene and the fact that it involves mostly characters that we don’t know just shows how amazing the acting and writing of this show is! This episode simultaneously has the Holden moment that is the hardest for me to watch and also my favorite Holden moment of the whole show, or at least a top 5 Holden moment. Seeing him lose control while going after the hybrid on the Roci and just yelling at Prax and Alex is hard, understandable why he is acting like that, but he certainly does let his anger cloud his judgement. But then that “warship Rocinante” speech! I freaking love that moment sooooo much!!! Also I just love the trio of Bobbie, Avasarala, and Cotyar so much, they’re hilarious together. Can’t believe we’re almost done with season 2!

Scene 52 is always my favorite it comes out of nowhere and is so powerful. The human spirit really is something special.

Shut up Ryan

Fantastic episode, and your reaction was on point.. I should have known penultimate episode would have some twists. The actor who plays Errinwright did such a convincing job he had a change of heart and came clean with Chrisjen and then offing his Martian rival leader. Naomi having to decide who gets on the ship and who doesn't really got me in the gut. Holden is stepping up but being a bit rough on Alex in the process. I get it the protomolecule destroyed Eros and the marines on Ganymede and hid frustration as well as half his crew. He did bitch out Mao which was a nice turn of events. I hate Chrisjen was caught in the middle.

Lyn Hurst

What a fantastic reaction. Really enjoyed this episode. Im loving how much you are vibing with the universe of this show. Such a fun ride.

Farbod

Regarding Errinwright - I don't think he was showing remorse. I think he was showing fear about losing control and about potentially Mars wiping out Earth. He was basically asking Chrisjen for help to defend him. He did NOT want to face punishment at all and that was kind of all he could think about. So he would take any chance or opportunity to get out of that situation, and he did.

Chad K

As fans like to say - "Here comes the juice!"

Lindsay Mathieson

Absolutely peak episode and a real punch to the gut, really appreciated your reaction to it and teared up with you guys as well. I do like that you both aren't afraid to show the emotions these scenes bring out in us. The belter who held the others back and then organised them for the "52" - named Champa and is a classic example at how good the expanse casting team is, so many of their one episode characters bring their A Game to the show and are remembered far beyond those scenes. MVP for the episode - Champa, a legendary Beltalowda, the best of the belt along with all the other Belters who made the hard sacrifice so that some may live.

Lindsay Mathieson

Love Bobbie crushing those cucumber sandwiches and reacting to Avasarala telling Mao to get to the fucking point

Jeff M

I'm pretty sure she's talking about the aurora seen in the ISS flyover clip in the opening.

Golladan

The 52 people scene is WONDERFUL. The banter within Team ABC (Avasarala, Bobbie, Cotyar) is hilarious. Bobbie gobbling down the cucumber sandwiches makes me laugh every time. And the unexpected Errinwright retaliation is awesome. This episode is a BANGER!

Sheri

So you have met Champa, one of the true great Belters - they do not have many, though. It's quite interesting; the Belters unite the very extremes. They can bring up this kind of sacrifice and then they can show the spacing of innocents, sorry Inners. But I have yet to see a Belter who shows the same passion to anybody else but themselves. This was not a good episode for Mars - getting d*** by Sadavir Errinwright - indeed a cool name - but they lost a ship, their alliance with Mao and their defence secretary all in one day. Damned awful day for the faction I root for; of course Earth still has to come first.

Joel Quinn

I love this show so much! Errinwright had added this poison to the concert flyer that Korshunov was holding in his hand. The show likes to hint to us it might be the alcohol but, no, it was "187 minutes ago" when they were at the performance. Naomi was checking on her torpedo briefly as she worries that her ship might be shot down. Expanse fans often call this episode "52" as the number of belters that can be saved. Champa ("Big Guy")is truly an amazing one episode character and even seeing the husband and wife separated is a gut punch and they don't speak a single word! This show is so amazing and worth as many rewatches as is possible!

Etta Eskridge

What I think Pudgey is interpreting as the protomolecule in the opening sequence is actually showing a stylized timeline of the human race progressing technologically and that spreading over Earth. At least that's how I interpreted it...

Kale

Hahaha, Spartan, just an itchy eye eh 😂 Truly such a well-written episode. Holden wants to save the solar system but had to be reminded by Alex that their family, the crew, are what really matter, and they need their help now. And damn does Holden come in clutch with that epic speech. This is the WARSHIP Rocinante, hear it and know it.

Paul

And would you believe me that it only gets better from here on out. You ain't seen nothing yet.

Hans Engelen

Reliving this series with you has been such a joy. I look forward to every drop! Watching you experience the same shock and awe that this show can deliver just gives me such a lift. I look forward to the rest of the journey with you!

Gail Ferguson

Really do love this show! Has just so many great characters, and even a lot of the smaller actors just knock it out of the park.

Ahupnatun

The last time Holden asked for an open channel he announced to everyone that Mars destroyed the Canterbury.

Golladan

That's the Aurora, Pudgey. Not the protomolecule.
