Did they just forget about the attempted rape? Like wut? And holding a gun to his best friend? I’m so confused on how they still are obsessed with the dude…

Poor Dale, he was such a moral light in the darkness. And poor Carl…

Ugh I wish I could comment pictures so bad. So fun story, I once met the actors for Daryl, Lori, Hershel (RIP Scott Wilson) Shane, Axel (season 3 character) and Carl once at a Walker Stalker Con, and let me tell you they were some of the humblest, kindest, fan loving humans I’ve ever met. Norman Reedus (Daryl) told me I have a pretty name (sigh, my name is Jayla) and signed his picture with his name, my name and a heart next to it, while my dad got Daryl’s autograph on a picture from his movie The Boondock Saints (which I highly recommend). Lori was so kind and wrote me a sweet little note. I was a bit scared to meet Shane (Jon Bernthal) but of course he was super chill, Hershel (Scott Wilson) was just so gentle and so humble, I met him after I had half my face painted like a zombie because I was at walker con of course and he loved it 🤣, and Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Axel (Lew Temple) were also just super chill happy to be there it was a great day. Love love love the reactions I didn’t expect this series from you guys but I am so glad it’s happening!!! thank you!

Ya the behind the scenes drama with seasons 1 and 2 with the director, actors and AMC (the channel/execs who oversaw the show) is really interesting and sad.

Dale was the only moral compass. Herschel not really.

I did t realize this was dales death, I thought that was in 2x12 better angels. Jeffrey DeMunn was fantastic in this show. He died a few years back I think but he was a great actor in everything.

Always hated this episode. Carl being a little shitty moron. Dale dying because of it. Dale was a G in the comics and he goes like this. The writing in this episode is so contrived. It's like they couldn't have two old moral compasses so they had to kill one of them off.

It just goes to show what great story writing + great acting can achieve. IMO there is a big gap between shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Lost and all the other shows that don't have one or the other or both.

I still don't get why he would tell him that story. It was pretty obvious that it would just make him more angry on their group and that he would let it out on him.

Also poor Dale. Probably my favorite character of season 2. Such a boss, not afraid to speak out about what he believed was right.

It's Lori's decision. She decides who the father of her child is. I don't care who the real father is. All he did was cum inside her. She's the one who's going to be pregnant for 9 months in an apocalypse, and then give birth (without adequate medical care), risking her life. Surely, in a world with no laws and no legal way to resolve this issue, it's a woman's right to decide.

Fair has nothing to do with it. Shane only impregnated her (maybe) by lying to her in the first place; whether on purpose or not, it doesn't matter. It was under false pretenses. Not to mention the litany of other things. He doesn't deserve his feelings considered IMO.

The thing is, Dale didn't had to die in this season, in the comic he dies until what would be the 5th season of the show, but they say the actor asked for his character to die in season 2 because he was a friend of the first season's producer, who stopped working on the show after season 1, so Dale's actor didn't want to keep working without his friend.
Such a shame, such a great character, he was the heart of the group

R.I.P. Dale. They had a show after each twd called Talking Dead and it always had departing characters as star guests so fans can show their love. It made it easier for us viewers by getting to know the actors.

I’m not so sure that man was innocent of what he said his group did that he “didn’t take part in”. Just the way he says “real young, real cute” is unbelievably creepy and if what he says about his group was true then that’s more of a reason to kill him, you can’t risk those sort of men finding where the farm is because we know what they’d do to the women and the men would most likely just be killed.

I love this episode for presenting totally valid arguments on both sides. It highlights for the audience how tough it would be to make this decision and live with the consequences either way. RIP Dale, our steady voice of reason and conscience.
