The Walking Dead 2x12 Reaction

Comments

Oh nah this reaction was nuts I don’t get how y’all liked Shane up to this point even

Brayden Underscore

You guys are delusional about Shane. What?? Shane is trying to kill Rick??!! Omg I’m so confused ! lol

Karina Sandoval

He definitely didn’t

Timmy Saxton

I think Shane was testing the boy when he was talking about going back to his camp. He was seeing if his answer would be in support of returning to his original camp or abandoning it. When the boy said he should come with him and meet all the guys, Shane decided he was a danger.

Reginald

I knew Shane had to go when the episode where he first pointed a gun at Rick came out. It made watching the entirety of Season 2 long and painful because theynever dealt with it. It just kept getting worse with him. I was in the minority opinion back then, though. Don't listen to all these commentors who got their sense of morality about this show second hand from the people who recommended it to them. When it was premiering, most people liked Shane and thought he was right most of the time.

Alex Bernier

You had such a strange attachment to Shane ngl. He tried to rape Lori. How are you rooting for someone after that?

Jamie 제이미

Great reaction, Shane was a great loss, he lost himself like Dale said, he let the world drag him down with it. It's really tragic that Rick had to put him down, we can always wonder what better things could have happened if Shane didn't do it to himself and took the second chance that was given to him.

Enemy

You guys.....man...morals in Australia are down under I reckon 😂

Johnny_Raincloud

Series started with Shane leaning over Rick crying after he got shot....then Rick leaning over Shane as he's bleeding out.

Johnny_Raincloud

But I'm tired son...

Johnny_Raincloud

Carl's first kill...was Shane

Johnny_Raincloud

Man i miss this show

ZeDominion

Here is the problem with your griping about peoples comments on Shane. Shane was written off completely for a LOT of people with the ALMOST rape of Lori. BYE BOY. There is no coming back from that for me. A lot of us are surprised that you guys didn't pick that up too. Shane adjusted to the way things were so quickly because deep down.. He really wasn't a good person. I know thats hard to get because you guys liked him. But its the truth.

hypocritex

So much for Shanes theory that Rick doesnt have what it takes right? lol. He didn't just do what had to be done.. He did it to his "best friend" . . And Shane deserved it.

hypocritex

This.

hypocritex

finally no more shane glazing

John a

I mean, if people on here express whether or not a character gets better or worse over time, I would most definitely consider that a spoiler so yea, I get it. People, just..ya know 😂

Jan

protecting your best friends/brothers wife is one thing but pegging your brothers wife and falling in love is another that’s why we don’t worry about shane’s feelings when it comes to the relationship side of things because that’s simply his best friends wife

terrell bradshaw

I feel like yalls feelings for Shane blocked u from seeing this coming. It was inevtiable and the most obvious outcome. Shane has been making threats, growing increasinginly more unstable and hostile. Constantly kicking Rick's back in and even saying that Rick's family should be his. Shane thought about killing Rick a couple times and arguably tried that one time with the Randall drop-off. It was always gonna come down to one killing the other. I'm honestly shocked by how shocked yall are lol

Paynekiller96

"No way we've just lost another one" I mean...he'll be back in a sec just wait! :)

neutchain

kinda like GoT in the first few seasons

neutchain

Right, Pudgey comes with "how did we get to this point" and well, that answer was simple. Rick came back in 1x3 it was all downhill from there. In Shane's own (paraphrased) words, "I had all I wanted, then you came back and destroyed it all."

Alan

I've been waiting for you 2 to get to this episode. For me, it was so freaking emotional. I feel like I was the only one who cried at Shane's death😅. Rick didn't want to do this to Shane, he was his BEST FRIEND. But Shane was never going to let it go, he wanted everything Rick had. I also loved Shane the first go around, but you could see he was quickly losing his sanity throughtout this season. The worst part is, it wasn't entirely his fault, you just can't fully blame him in this apocalyptic environment. I'm so excited to continue watching you both experience this show. I love love LOVE the reactions.💙

Jay Nikki

There was no coming back from this. Shane basically forced this on Rick. Also, it may seem like fans are harsher on him than other characters but it's because the things he's done are far worse too.

Vanessa Navarro

No way they could live together on the same group after that. Rick could never trust shane again. He did what he had to do. Shane had it coming.

Bruna Pereira

I also enjoyed Shane's character. Good dramas have characters that represent all aspects of humanity. It's ok to love to hate a character. It was becoming obvious that Rick and Shane could not co-exist in this group and possibly this world. The good news? This show just keeps getting better as the seasons and characters develop.

William Staggs

Im confused by the confusion. Shane proved to be a bad person and a danger to the group a really, really long time ago. He is a great and well written character but couldn't be looked upon as a good guy from when he put Rick in his sights with the rifle. I agreed with some of Shane's perspective but yikes.

Carrie Petty

Right, there was no gray after that. None.

Carrie Petty

I understand why you guys try to think about characters not in a black or white way, but for me that gets thrown out the window when you try to rape your best friends wife.

NickD

SPOILERS!!!!

Jayden Coulter

Julianjjz

Buckle up LOL

Stefaan De Wasch

Yeah I think so too. Even me rewatching the show made me like Shane more even after the shit he pulled just cos it was Jon Bernthal whereas first time around I was like "this guy is dangerous" lol

Eagle Myles

I think the "hints" are sometimes so hard to moderate. Obviously direct ones are easier to mod but I even noticed myself as I was typing sometimes (obviously I then didn't put it) on things like "yeah I always thought Shane WAS a badass" or "yeah there was always hints Shane was going to be bad" when he's doing stuff and I'm realising it's in the past tense or even saying like he doesn't improve I think you have to heavily mod Patreon but then not look at all at YouTube comments. YT is next to impossible to mod tbh but I'd like to think Patreon can have a community where people understand 🤷🏻‍♂️

Eagle Myles

I second this!! I’d love to see them react to punisher. They’d love Jon Bernthal in that

Lucy Fairhurst

It was kill or be killed and Rick did what he had to do or Shane was gonna kill him.

J Osceola

Heartbreaking episode, Rick’s cries always get me. Andrew is such a good actor man

Sophia Costas

Regarding what Pudgey said about people hinting STRONGLY about Shane's character, that's why I've always considered it light spoilers when people start giving hints, even minor ones about characters. You either need some mods to get rid of these comments and be strict about what is allowed to be 'hinted at' or just stop reading comments until you're done with the show or have caught up. YaBoyRoshi mostly avoids comments for shows they currently watch because people simply cannot control themselves and spoil any chance they get. Yes, reading your viewers/fans thoughts can be important but once you reach certain growth and prioritize quality of reactions (a.k.a not getting spoiled so your reactions can be genuine) you gotta start avoiding comments or heavily moderate spoilers.

Mukatutu

He HAD honorable intention however he had sex with his best friend's wife, tried to rape Lori, kept trying to get with Lori behind Rick's back and then attempted to kill him. No justification , his death was the only way peace would reign. No one stopped him from expressing himself, he was a lost cause from the beginning. I realllyyy wanted him to find happiness and love with Andrea but ALAS he didnt. Mind you I loved him as well, so I am not a Shane hater.

Sahae

They've literally never said those words. At least not in the cut reactions.

Tyler Hargrove

Just wanted to say this was a fun episode. You're doing a good job. Don't read comments if you dont want to. People are insane and are clearly too young to understand that hindsight is 20/20. You can only react to and make observations based on the most recent episode. So people judging you for your opinions is kind of funny, but incredibly stupid. Keep up the good work. 👍

Tyler Hargrove

Wow way to spoil it are you kidding? Let them find out on their own ffs

Jayde.tash

I think you guys may be huge Jon Bernthal fans.

Cody Sutton

what a weird series of comments relax, they liked Shane's character no need to be so condescending.

carl houlihan

Spartan go watch punisher with John, he is amazing in that and the lead so you’ll enjoy it !

Chloe

Best reaction of the walking dead from you 2 so far😉

Jarrica Hennigan

I’m so happy to never have to hear about Shane anymore

Jarrica Hennigan

It’s not so much as hope yall had for Shane as much as it is delusion on you 2 part 😂… so no I don’t feel for Shane at all and I couldn’t wait til we got to this part of the show

Jarrica Hennigan

I was so hoping Shane would fall in love with Andrea and move on to help Rick protect the group.

macc61

Good point. Great acting for Shanes character along with a hope many of us had that Shane would settle in and the best friends would lead the group.....until this episode happened.

macc61

Both of your insightful commentaries just speak to the brilliance of this show ✨ and I love y’all’s honesty with these reactions 🫶🏼 I hope you’re feeling better Pudgey, and I can’t wait for the next TWD uploads!

Kai

😂😂😂

Jarrica Hennigan

Shane understood the new world better and sooner than anyone else. His biggest mistake was his attachment to Lori (and Carl). The rejection from her after Rick’s return, Her pregnancy and her “confession” that there was something real between them- eventually drove him insane, seeing Rick as a threat and plotting to murder him. RIP Shane.

Yoav Cohen

So glad you finally got to Shane’s death so you could see he’s a lost cause. In Shane’s end, Rick finally took Shane’s advice and eliminated the threat. Shane forced his hand. He died in like issue 6 in the comic - he only mattered so much in the show because Jon Bernthal is just a fantastic actor. Comic Rick wasn’t nearly as patient but the whole storyline is different altogether in that things happen rapid fire a lot of the time whereas adapting it to tv gives you 13 episodes. They had to stretch like 21 pages of comic into 12 hours of film. I won’t say anymore in case you haven’t finished season 2, I know you said there would be a delay.

Ludus Aurea

Mmmm delicious. A fresh start. Bye Shane. 🥳

KP

that’s actually what Jon Bernthal said he interpreted it as and wanted it to end slightly different. He wanted rick to try and put him down as a walker with shane’s gun and it would click. indicating he had no ammo and didn’t have real intent to kill him.

Cody Dowd

Sorry for the comment spam, but I think Shane was basically asking Rick to kill him without actually doing it. He had the perfect chance to kill Rick and didn’t; he even gave Rick his gun. I think he wanted to push Rick far enough to finally kill him. Shane’s never had a problem killing when he felt it was necessary, so it doesn’t make sense that he’d hesitate unless he wanted to die. The conversation with Lori probably killed any hope of reviving the Shori affair. He spent all this time wanting her to admit she had feelings for him (and she did kinda) but she still chose to end it. I think, to him, that meant there was no possibility for rekindling. Lori told him that she even thought she had real feelings (as did Shane) and even those feelings weren't enough for her to leave Rick. I honestly think he was just suicidal atp, but he's too much of a "fighter" to take his own life.

pilbil

My first time watching this episode i was about 6 maybe 7 or 8. Either way, I was way too young to appreciate good writing. Watching along with people (adults lol) who've never seen this before just shows me how good this episode was. The whole mystery walker/murder aspect towards the end was so well done.

pilbil

Guys stop posting spoilers in the comments, S&P read the comments and it ruins the experience.

RoyaleWithCheese

Rule #1 of TWD: Anyone can die at any minute in any episode 🫣

Brandon Moore

As a proud shane hater, this was so fun to watch. lmao. but honestly yall are the only people i've seen give such insight into shane's character. what a great character, incredibly written, very happy he is gone.

pilbil

I actually cant understand How u like shane over rick tbh

Oliver Lindahl Schrøder

That scene is one of my favorites in the show. The acting by Andrew Lincoln and Jon Bernthal is so good.

Stray

The anxiety I have had waiting for you two to get here… hugs all around.

Micah Mann

oh this is gonna be so good
