We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. I'd say once you start, you want to see it through. Personally, I enjoyed s3 the least, as it's the most confusing, but when it's connected with s.4 it fits together and overall I found the journey from 1-4 satisfying.

In terms of the guns, it is a case of scifi magic - it seems the bullets are designed to decelerate and bounce off or burst harmlessly when they hit a guest. We see Teddy physically unable to shoot the Man In Black in the head, so the Hosts' programming probably stops them from ever shooting guests at too close a range or aiming at vulnerable spots.

Interesting how everything is in a loop including the player piano except when there is a glitch in the program or a major malfunction. Of course, there could be malware in the code that someone purposely injected to eff with things. The cast is stellar. Anthony Hopkins, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, James Marsden, lots of others. I love Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores) she is a great actress. The man who played her father (I didn't catch his name) but he was fantastic. Wondering how some sort of humanness evolved or was inserted into the new code. My bet is on the Anthony Hopkins character who approves the final product and then adds his own to it.

Which makes total sense they are both so similar a sci-fi theme atraction park where rich guests can go and expirence an old world that no longer exists but then stuff starts to go wrong and theres investors, competitors and a lot of political and company shenanigans. Also the boss/creator character in here played by Anthony Hopkins reminds me a lot of Dr. John Hammond in Jurassic Park

2025-10-08 07:04:14 +0000 UTCDunno if you guys are music people, but the player piano in the saloon played versions of Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden and Painted Black by Rolling Stones, and maybe other pop songs I missed. Very cool. And as Pudgy said , you can watch that episode again and pick up so much more the second time through, and you should! E1 is mind boggling and a rewatch would set yourselves up for E2 with better context, witch leads to better reactions. Just my 2 cents. 🍻

This 1st season is perfection, and a 2nd season was never going to be able to live up to the hype, but it's still an absolute must watch after this season. I'll be shocked if you both aren't wanting to dive into the next season once you reach the finale.

Since you loved the creative writing of that show, I'm really hoping you enjoy this earlier work as well. Notes: Bernard, the coder, is one of the astronauts in Interstellar (which Christopher and Jonathon Nolan co-wrote). Teddy is the same actor who played Cyclops in X-men. And the Man in Black is the awesome Ed Harris.

2025-10-08 01:22:48 +0000 UTCGreat reaction. Not knowing Anthony Hopkins' name is a bit mad but I won't hold it against you. Also, as others have said, you should definitely do Season 2! IMO both seasons are great and have really satisfying payoffs if you keep up with the plot. I still remember my first watch, I’d head straight to the Reddit discussion threads after every episode, and everyone there worked together to figure things out. The showrunners even showed up there sometimes! There’s a theory that they made things more convoluted after Season 1 because fans were cracking the big twists so quickly, and honestly… it kinda feels true 😅

2025-10-08 01:13:50 +0000 UTCApologies for the frankness and negativity but I was a major major fan of this show in 2016/2017 so I must be honest. Personally absolutely adore season 1, it is incredible. I think Season 2 is a step down, but many people disagree and it would be interesting to know what you think after checking it out, and yes it does complete the first half of the story. Season 3 however, I would rather jump in an acid bath with cuts all over my body than subject myself to that again, I'd recommend putting up a poll after the end of season 2 and seeing if people want you to continue, assuming you do, if for no other reason than to give a more deserving show the spot. When I think about season 3 in particular, it's like I'm thinking about an ex girlfriend who banged my dad- disgust, betrayal, trauma, sickening terror, pure despair, and I'm not saying things happen in the show that made me sad but made sense, I'm saying it's a worthless mess. Apparently season 4 is a bit better but not enough to save it from cancellation, and definitely not worth season 3 In my opinion.

Not sure I feel like trying it again, but I'd be willing to give it a try if you all choose to watch it. I'm definitely not interesting in S3 and S4.
