We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

Spartan and Pudgey, I'm curious about something. From YOUR point of view as viewers, is Bobbie the only character with no accent?

SJ Lute

And with that... welcome to THE EXPANSE...

Tony Leadholm

I don't know if you figured it out Spartan, but the implication was that Cohen was cut in half while walking through a door when all the ships suddenly decelerated.

You starting to see what I mean about how an episode of The Expanse that barely has any action feels as intense, if not more, than the biggest action set-piece episodes out there?

Beat Conductor

All but one Expanse antagonist rank amongst my favourites. So many other stories could take a lesson. I find it grating just how many shows still have absurdly portrayed antagonists that feel like they are the enemy just for the sake of being the enemy, silly exaggerated vocal intonation and all. It's nice to feel that the antagonists are human, with human motivations, rather than caricatures.

TeddyBearBonfire

So glad you guys enjoyed the episode. It's one of my favorite episodes, of any television series. Lots of action, serious dialog, the entire spectrum of emotions, life and death moments and everyone trying to do what they think is the 'greater good'. An amazing mixture of characters in an impossible situation. With the payoff being access to 1300 new solar systems to explore. This is the ultimate tv episode for sci-fi nerds.

Chris07

And the adventures only get wilder from here!

Shawn Anomaly

Any sources it will continue? Pretty sure the showrunners confirmed its done.

carl houlihan

And the production quality increases even more, wild to say.

Paul

Yes! Incredibly lucky for the entirety of humanity that Clarissa was placed in a livestock cell next to Holden. Without hearing the real him, she may not have made that split-second choice that saved everyone.

Paul

Similar to Game of Thrones in that way, main characters have died and enough is established that they're able to build real tension, you just don't know what will happen.

Paul

I absolutely LOVE when a show or book can create an antagonist that feels real. Ashford is no mustache twirling supervillain; he's a man seeking redemption for the sins of his past. What greater way to purge those stains away than saving the human race? He was wrong, but he was not evil. Also, Clarissa coming around and Holden's speech not convincing Ashford, but being the tipping point for her to act in his defense. Brilliant writing. But now... Miller needs a ride. 😉

Paul

Great reaction! One of the best episodes of TV ever made! This is the end of Book 3 and Act 1. Books 4-6 (which correspond with seasons 4-6) are Act 2. Books 7-9 are Act 3 and haven't been filmed yet but definitely will be. There's a time skip between books 6 and 7 so it's appropriate to take a show break at that point. So glad you're loving this show!

Sheri

This show is so top tier and still underrated. Love all of the characters especially the roci crew. This season is so fucking good!!

Mo

I feel like I say this all the time...but literal PEAK television. My goodness, what an amazing show and episode. The writing is just top tier. I think literally everyone thought Drummer was going to die there...that elevator dropping was so unexpected. Thats what makes shows that DO kill main characters so good...you always know it can happen.

Ryan

Around 1300 habitable solar systems...that's going to shake up everything in our local solar system. Everything has changed. This will have far-reaching consequences.

Amber A

Nothing to say except that episode had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I’ve watched this series before but it was years ago and I honestly thought we might lose some of our beloved characters. So glad they made it out alive! From here on out I have hardly any recollection of what happens, it’ll be like watching for the first time again 😃😃😃

Bill B.

Fantastic season finale. I noticed Clarissa was showing signs of softening beginning with the previous episode. She was really paying attention to Holden and Anna and what they were both saying about not being violent killers because they don't understand the perceived threat.

Lyn Hurst

We dont know what Holden saw when transiting the ring but it only appeared at the the divide between the ring space and our solar system, very curious! This cluster of episodes (book 3) is what made me pick up the books. The sense of AWE imparted on me in that finale was so great. The sense of adventure and pathfinding, going forward into new lands, its a feeling our generation will never fully experience. There is nowhere left to truly discover, and the places that need exploring are far out of our reach. So that had a great impact on me its why I love this show and the books so much.

Cody Taylor

i know its crazy!

CpaSpartan Pudgey

I can't believe you guys are on season 4, it feels like you started this series last week

Fara

Great reaction to a great episode. The thing I like about this arc so much is that Ashford isn't exactly wrong or doing things for the wrong reasons. He's carrying out what he thinks needs to be done to save all of humanity. Everybody is just doing what they believe to be right. If you remember back to the first episode of this arc, the brown out buffer that Clarissa uses to shut down the Behemoth was what her supervisor explained to her, which was a nice bit of foreshadowing.

"Everybody Has A Plan Until They Get Punched In The Face" - Mike Tyson

Chad K

That was the last of the SyFy seasons. Amazon's production started with Season 4. Thank you Syfy for giving us The Expanse and thank you Amazon for letting the series continue!

Joan Monroe

This is the end of the 3rd book. That small group of episodes covered 1 book. It's why everything felt so fast paced. Season 4 is book 4. If you didn't catch it, Clarissa caused the shutdown by doing what Ren warned her about when they were introduced. She changed the buffer to be the wrong way around.

Golladan

The sudden change with Ashford is mainly to do with the way his character was adapted. Up to now he was essentially taking on the role of other book characters. But for this episode he is pretty much the same as his book counterpart.

Golladan

"No plan survives contact with the enemy" is a saying that means... well... just that. You can make a plan, but once it's time to implement it, things can go wrong.

Golladan

The Expanse has.... Expanded. Get ready! Opening overhaul for season 4!

Golladan

And now for the kicker! It's enough to leave you feeling flat ... eh Diogo?
