I don't have any personal connection to Pat Summitt or Tennessee, I just think she's an incredible coach and human being who elevated women's college basketball to a new level. When you hear Candace Parker or others talk about her, you can tell she had a positive impact on so many people. She sadly passed away in 2016, but at least this captures some of her legacy. As you guys brought up, she spent decades developing the program and started with almost no resources. By the later part of her career she was recruiting some of the top talent out of high school and winning an absurd amount. Geno Auriemma was able to do something similar at UConn - that team was pretty bad before he arrived in 1985, and he is still coaching.
