The Astros Edge: Triumph And Scandal (Coach John MegaFan Request)

With reporter Ben Reiter, the documentary traces the making of one of the best teams and worst scandals in modern Major League Baseball history, the limited accountability and how the Astros' approach to baseball changed the sport. Let us know your thoughts in the comments and thank you again to Coach John for another amazing request!

I completely disagree. The whole purpose of sports is to measure talent through competition. Cheating is, at its very core, anti-sports. I understand it has been an aspect of the game for 150+ years, but that is no justification for its permitted continuance. We now have the technology to at the very least attempt to phase out the most prominent methods of cheating, and new ones as they're discovered.

As someone who was a Houston Fan before and after the sign scandal broke, the saddest part of all of this is how Jose Altuve because he was the team captain, because he was the face of the team, he is associated with stealing signs and still gets the loudest boos from the opposing fans that still care about the trash bangs.

Interesting video and reaction, but theres been corruption and scandal in the world in general and in sports since time began. So I don't really get upset by this or even the steroid thing. The players still have to show their skills with pitching, hitting and fielding -- and athletes will always look to gain advantage-- and sadly sometimes cheating. I don't dislike the Astros because of this-- I dislike the Astros because I'm a long-time,life-long Phillies fan and Houston seems to always beat them, especially recently in the clutch. But I don't blame sign stealing for the Astros success -- can't deny their talent then and now. Seems like when your team loses; everybody likes to come up with excuses for poor performance-- usually the better team wins.

Yeah, that’s on me (Nick) I blame lack of sleep, I’m absolutely gutted about it

Wait, you guys watched League of Denial, one of the best ever documentaries and it got deleted? That is DEVASTATING. PBS Frontline is possibly America's best documentary producer

Pete Finch

You'll hear them called the "Houston Assholes" a lot around here lol

it also sucks when someone is like "where are you from" and you're like "houston" and they respond with something about the astros scandal and you're left standing there like "......" lol

i grew up with the astros, going to games as a kid etc. i was a kid back with biggeo and bagwell and they were pretty stand up guys in the community. there's been a lot of individual players who have been amazing to the community of houston and texas as a whole but then this happened and it put such a black mark against the entire team and everyone associated. i still have a soft spot for the astros in general but it really is a shame that now there's a black mark against everyone it seems.
