And in the Merger when he wouldn’t give Jim his seat back. But I do think you’re right about the teaser, Ryan knew he was in serious contention and ready to make a change.

As for Ryan, maybe the degree titles are different in the UK, but when David said in the phone “it’ll be nice to have another MBA around here” that implies that Ryan has graduated from school with a Masters degree in Business Administration. We don’t know much of what he’s done at the office except argue with Kelly (who is another writer on the show) but on paper Ryan has the credentials for a corporate position.
