My favourite joke is the fact Regina started the Janice rumour of her being a lesbian and it's revealed at the dance that she's Lebanese, so clearly she missunderstood Janice and thought she was coming out to her when she probably just said she's Lebanese. XD

2025-10-15 23:49:51 +0000 UTCMean Girls is a movie that I feel is actually super underrated for the comedy it is! A lot of people think the way you did at the beginning, that its just a melodramatic teen drama. But it's so much more compelling and entertaining.

2025-10-15 22:18:18 +0000 UTCOne of those films I never expected to watch a second time. I'm glad I did...as an older adult now I can appreciate it so much more. But I've got to agree with TB's comment below and never expected to be watching it with you guys π€£ Regina George's mother was played by Amy Poehler who you're going to love once you start watching Parks and Recreation.!!!

2025-10-11 22:29:24 +0000 UTCThe mirror scene is showing how the plastics are criticising themselves because of western beauty standards and this is normal for them and for the target audience of the film (teenage girls). But for Kady itβs disorientating as thatβs not the mindset and values sheβs been raised with so her outsider perspective is refreshing for the viewer.

2025-10-11 21:45:42 +0000 UTCWhen I started watching you guys you were reacting to college football and major league baseball. Never would have dreamt that you would one day watch Mean Girls. Like you said, this is a movie that you normally would not choose. I voted for it because of the bizarre nature of two 30-something Brits watching an American teen comedy from 2004 with all sorts of ridiculous and over the top comedy bits. Glad you enjoyed it. Nice call back to Spring Fling from Modern Family.

2025-10-11 20:18:41 +0000 UTCFun fact, you can google it too; I went to the high school that this movie is based off of! New Trier High School, located in the North Shore of Chicago (Hence the movieβs high school name). The sad thing is, there were totally people like this π itβs a pretty massive school, with around 4,000 students. My graduating class was 1.1k!

2025-10-11 20:08:05 +0000 UTCI know, I know, revoke my millennial card (Lindsey Lohan and I are the same age, born 13 days apart) but I always grew up watching the original Parent Trap because my mom loved Maureen O'Hara and I still prefer it - it's the nostalgia!

2025-10-11 19:30:10 +0000 UTCLindsay Lohan was definitely "teen idol" status in the early 2000s after premiering as a child actress in the late 90s. For a while she was one of the biggest names in Hollywood but it was short lived. Unfortunately she had a lot of issues with addiction and legal issues and the fame really took a toll on her so she fell off the map for a while. I think she even moved to Dubai or something to get away from things.
