I believe it’s a metaphor for how Hollywood treats animals. We see this several times throughout the film (particularly with the horse on set and the chimpanzee). People are trying to control something that isn’t meant to be controlled. Jupe made the same mistake in the end as the people from the set of the tv show. He thought he had tamed the alien and ended up getting everyone eaten. Also, he wasn’t killed by the chimpanzee because his eyes were covered by the table cloth when he was a kid.

Jupe wanted to recreate the fame of his youth and Emerald wants the fame of her 4x great grandfather....or Oprah.... everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame and they are willing to die for it. OJ was wearing a Scorpion King Hoodie and that's why the TMZ guy mentioned it... I'm probably wrong but that's my take. 1. Get Out 2. Us 3. Nope
