I jumped in to the uncut version to read some of the comments there, and I think I tend to agree that the movie is a commentary on both the exploitation of animals for entertainment, as well as the lack of recognition of black people in the industry's history. I did need Google to clue me onto some of the other themes 😅. It's an interesting watch and a very different take on ufo/scifi adventure. It's probably not my favorite of the three (Get Out is still on top for me), but I will say my opinion of it really improved on my second watch here. I do think I got more out of it on the rewatch when it's all a bit clearer in hindsight etc.
