2025-11-15 23:15:47 +0000 UTCYep. At the start of Season 9, they knew it was possible Dwight could be getting a spinoff. They made this pilot for The Farm. Midway through the season, NBC confirmed they wouldn't be picking it up, so they used the footage from the pilot to make this episode.

You were sort of both right about the sister. Dwight convinced her to stay by counting down, but it was only for a few nights to consider their aunt’s offer. She did make the final decision to stay when she saw the handshake and the fatherly influence that Dwight had on her son.
