Finally getting a chance to watch this with you. This movie created such a cult following that an ACTUAL religion was formed based on it, Dudeism. I have been a Dudeist Priest for over 2 decades... lol. I have performed 2 weddings as a Dudeist Priest. :-) The Dude Abides... https://dudeism.com/

2025-11-26 15:33:03 +0000 UTCDamo asked what the point of the movie is -- there isn't one. It's just a random story. The Coen brothers are known for making movies like this. Not everything meaningful needs a message, some films are just worlds to sink into for a couple hours. If you liked their style, I'd love to see you guys react to No Country for Old Men, which is pretty widely considered one of the best films ever made. Fargo is another classic from them, which was turned into a very good TV series as well.
