The Legion of Doom is a team of villains in DC Comics (like the Justice League is a team of heroes) and also is the name of a WWF duo. I am stoked that this won and you are planning on watching the trilogy because these movies are great! Any time comic book movies are in the running they will have my vote and you two have no idea what you have in store with this genre of movies!

2025-12-30 15:41:56 +0000 UTCThe Nolan trilogy stands alone in terms of DC Comics and it is DCs peak in terms of live action. Henry Cavill as Superman is probably DCs second best (modern) live action hero. There are also Green Lantern, Justice League, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman (and a few other) live action movies. DC has had better success with shows, even better than Marvel. They’ve been pretty consistent with both live action and animated shows.

2025-12-30 08:14:11 +0000 UTCTo answer Damo's questions about the Batman universe and other bad guys, all the movies that have come out are based on the original comics, but they don't all go together, and how closely they follow the original story (and the number of original bad guys they include) is up to each writer. To Nick's point, this is just Nolan's version of the story of Batman. Glad to see you plan on watching The Dark Knight next. It's worth reading a bit about the toll playing the Joker took on Heath Ledger. He said he it worsened his pre-existing insomnia because he took it so seriously that he'd stay up all night trying to get the character right. He unfortunately passed from an overdose of prescription drugs a few months before the movie came out, but posthumously won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.

2025-12-30 06:17:06 +0000 UTCGreat reactions guys and Nick nailed it... this is a re-imagining of the Batman Story. There was an entire series of movies from the 80s that tells a different version.. Jack Nicholson was the Joker, Danny Divito was the Penguin, Aronld Schwarzenegger was Mr. Freeze, they also included catwoman and poison ivy. Multiple actors played batman in the movies There was also a series called Gotham from about 15 years ago and even a show called Pennywoth that told the origin story of Alfred.

I didn’t vote for it but they’re still great movies and I remember aggressively grabbing my then girlfriend’s knee in the theaters when certain stuff happened when we saw the last two. Also the Hans Zimmer soundtrack for the trilogy is fantastic.

I’m sure we will get to his best movies soon. We’ve also both seen inception and I’ve seen interstellar. As far as this movie goes, I was pleasantly surprised!

But when I think Christopher Nolan, this is NOT the movie I think of to define him. He only did the Batman movies so that he could get the budget and the green light to do Inception and Tenet and stuff... Honestly, you should have just foregone the movie poll and did all his movies in order (I recommend the same for Tarantino's movies as well. You did Pulp Fiction already, but that was only his second movie. Just go back and do Reservoir Dogs and then do the rest of his stuff in the order he released them.). For Nolan, start with Memento and then do all of his other movies that AREN'T a Batman movie. Then do the rest of his Batman movies. Those are two directors that don't really have a bad movie and you'll eventually want to see them all anyways, so you might as well just do them in order.
