1:25:16 - When the Goblin King says "What are you gonna do now Wizard?" so condescendingly, it makes me think of Dwight from the Office kicking out the magician they hired for Nellie when he's like "Scram Wizard!" lmao

Doom, Frodo wouldn't have let go of the ring and it wouldn't have been destroyed. In fact, Tolkein speculated that no one has the willpower to throw the ring into Mt. Doom when actually standing there, because that's where the temptation is the strongest. If Frodo and Gollum hadn't gotten into a fight, and Gollum fallen in, the ring probably wouldn't have been destroyed.

2026-02-02 23:17:47 +0000 UTCIdk if anyone already pointed this out, but the trolls we see here stay as stone and are seen in The Fellowship of The Ring. When Aragorn and the Hobbits are running from the Nazgûl after Frodo was stabbed, they eventually stop at these trolls and Sam points them out as “Bilbo’s Trolls”

2026-02-02 23:16:38 +0000 UTCBilbo is one the great characters Tolkien created. Of all the Hobbits we meet in both tales, Bilbo and loyal Samweis are the most interesting hobbits to me. Frodo is a bit one-note in his character and though I love frodo, it's Sam and Bilbo all the way. How would you two compare fantasy classics, Game Of Thrones and both Tolkien inspired films?
