In this episode, the fans talk a lot not wanting to go through the playoff, because historically, the #2 team stumbles along the way and doesn't end up going up. Can you imagine being Notts County, just had this historical season, would've been the best in National League history if not for Wrexham, and stumble in the playoff? Well, it almost happened and they almost bottled it in the playoff! In the semifinal against Boreham Wood they were down 2-0 at halftime, got a goal back, and then had a penalty saved. Notts scored the equalizer in the 96th minute to send to extra time! In extra time, Notts scored scored the winner in the 120th minute to avoid penalties. In the final, they faced 3rd place Chesterfield, who finished 23 points behind Notts. Chesterfield got an indirect free kick in front of goal two minutes in...the indirect free kick eventually led to a penalty, and Chesterfield went up 1-0 in the 5th minute. It stayed 1-0 until Notts scored on a free kick in the 87th minute! In extra time, Chesterfield scored in the first half with Notts again equalizing in the second half. Notts won in penalties 4-3. The same lad who had his penalty saved against Wrexham took the final penalty in the shootout and scored it to send Notts County up. A crazy finish to a crazy National League season!!
