Another homerun with 3 top-shelf storylines. My biggest chuckle (sadly cut from your reaction) was probably the interaction with Jay and the couple: We went through the same thing with Steph's dad. Now I'm confused. I'm Steph! On top of not having to pay all the actors for each episode, I thought maybe there was also some issue with underage actors only being allowed to be on set for so many hours? But then again Sarah Hyland who plays Haley was already in her 20s when this episode was shot, so that can't be the problem. I've also only just found out there's a 7-year age gap between the actresses playing Haley and Alex, though the characters are probably meant to be 2 or 3 years apart max!
