One thing that will be important to note as new characters join up is who is being promoted. Sergeants are Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO’s) that are in charge of smaller squads, but they are still enlisted (grunts). At the end of Episode 1, Easy’s NCOs mutinied via their resignation letters, and one (Ranney) was demoted to Private. NCO’s are distinct from Officers (who hold a commission, graduate from officer training, and are part of the command structure). Each platoon (several squads) within a company is led by a Lieutenant. 2025-05-04 03:07:46 +0000 UTCBlithe did not die from the neck wound. He returned home and died in the 1960's, I think. He didn't attend any of the reunions nor have any contact with the company, so they assumed he had passed away.
