2025-06-28 03:38:08 +0000 UTCAs a fun piece of trivia, the American military designed a model of grenade, the Beano T-13, that was built to mimic the weight and shape of a baseball. The thinking being that any American man would known how to throw a baseball and this would help with accuracy of grenade throws. It was discontinued in 1945 due to some design flaws that made it have a tendency to detonate prematurely on occasion, but the M-67, which is still the standard for US grenades today, is designed with this basic idea in mind.
