You know, I have to say, I like seeing how very set of characters is celebrating valentines day in their own special way and they all feel very fitting... except for Cam and Mitchell. Like, Jay trying to trick Gloria into thinking he forgot about valentines day and gloria trying to prove she's smarter than she thinks he thinks she is make sense for them, Dylan bringing a whole band to the lawn and Haley running into his arms makes sense and Claire and Phill doing their role play game again and botching it makes perfect sense! But for Cam and Mitchell I feel like this whole competition and bickering between them can get a little too overdone/overplayed. It almost feels like they default to that so often because god forbid you put 2 gay men kissing and making out on open tv. Like, can you imagine Cam and Mitch having Phill and Claire’s storyline and make out on the bed rolling around? No, that would never happen. It feels so unfair too because they want to use gay characters for the unique flair and humor they bring and get woke points while at it but god forbid they actually treat them as equals to the straight characters and write them like normal people who kiss and make out. Very frustrating. But idk who to blame, the writers who wrote it this way, the network who maybe would only accept it this way or some of the audience who would be ridiculous enough to enjoy the humor they bring as long as their being gay isn't "rubbed on their face," 🙄 like excuse me. Ugh. But I do love this episode, I think I love them all. I just think gay characters in general deserve better. Cuz this way it just feels like they're being used without being treated as equals.
