Luke and D3. I played D3 college football. There is a less than 1% chance that a D3 player would move onto the NFL. on my team there was one player whom the Baltimore Ravens showed some interest in as an undrafted free agent but an offer never materialized. But D3 got me into a better academically ranked school than I would have been able to get into, the coaches do have some wiggle room with $ (I had nearly half of my tuition paid for on grant money….not an athletic scholarship but if I wasn’t on the football team there is no way I would have received that $), but the real reason is if you love football, you love football. I’m in my 40s now (I’d update my photo on the left but have no idea how) and I would kill to be able to put on a uniform and play football again. And I’m so grateful to have had the chance to play D3 ball, go to an excellent school in the process, there is not a thing I would have changed. I forget how it ends with Luke but I do hope that while Westfield Warren or whatever isn’t University of Texas, or our beloved fictional TMU program, that he would go on and realize that he can’t have high school be his last game, and go somewhere he can play the sport he loves. All since we’ve met him he’s said football is his life, if it’s true he will take every opportunity he can get to keep playing, because when it’s over, it’s over.

2025-05-10 05:48:12 +0000 UTCCoach has got to listen to Mrs. Coach. Her job offer is incredible, and Coach is freaking amazing, but the stupid town of Dillon has been jerking him around for years. With him winning state with Saracen and also bringing the Lions to state after the program didn’t even exist, he could coach anywhere in the USA he wants.
