I have no memory of seeing this for the first time because I was about 7 years old and the only thing I remember of the first time watching the trilogy was the ghost army in The Return of the King. Now having rewatched the trilogy at least 10 times on my own and seeing other peoples first reactions to them I’ve gained so much appreciation and admiration for the movies especially after watching behind the scenes from the movies. Also reading the books and learning fun/interesting facts like at Bilbos birthday party Pippins actor didn’t know that the dragon firework would actually go off in front of him so the scream we heard in the movie was him actually screaming in fear/surprise and one quite well known fact is that Aragorns actor broke two of his toes kicking a helmet in The Two Towers. Even now after seeing the movies many times I notice something I haven’t noticed before or find new things to appreciate. This trilogy is so fantastic in every way but I especially love the soundtrack, set and costume designs and in my opinion the perfect casting for the fellowship and Saruman, whose actor was a longtime fan of the books and read them every year. If your experience of movies isn’t ruined by seeing how they were made I highly recommend watching the behind the scenes!

What I found interesting was how in the next scenes sometimes the movie would answer your questions. Of course, they're long, but I feel the pace is really good
