2025-06-25 21:47:30 +0000 UTCI mentioned in the comments of the first episode that I’d read a number of the books by the men who served in Easy. Didn’t mention any names because that would give away who survived. The series is based on Stephen Ambrose’s book of the same name. He took a lot of material from the memoirs of the men of Easy. Some of the survivors who also wrote their own books/memoirs are Winters, Buck Compton, Guarnere and Heffron (combo), and Malarkey.

2025-06-21 05:07:53 +0000 UTCI’m so glad you guys are moving onto the Pacific! It’s excellent, in a different way. Writing to ask, and trust me I’ll keep bugging you about it, once Pacific is finished, can you keep this time slot for the third series in this “trilogy”. Masters of the Air. Produced by the same amazing team of Spielberg and Hanks. And music also done by Gary Goetzman. Also a true story. As is obvious from the title, it follows a group of fighter pilots and bombers in this war. I don’t think it could have been made at the time of Band of Brothers or Pacific due to the advanced CGI required for the air battle scenes. But it completes the trilogy and is in my opinion the second best of the three…. Because to me, nothing beats Band of Brothers.
