I made a new recording !
This video focus mainly on the texturing part where I'm drawing my own pattern directly on the mesh with Substance Painter.
The real duration of the process is around 2 hours (without the pauses and the baking that takes much much longer !).
- From 0:05, you have the creation of the mesh in Blender, which is super basic because it's a simple torus.
- Starting 1:05, Substance Designer to create my textures. I start with plain glossy plastic and create all the folds and creases around the seamline.
- At 3:08, I'm baking my texture into blender 2.79
- At 3:30, I convert with photoshop my normal and specular map for the game specs. Then I make medium and low LOD in blender.
- At 4:50, I'm coming back to Substance Painter to draw a watermelon texture.
- At 6:50, I'm making a stylized donut texture. You can see how I create my own brushes !
- At 11:40, I'm drawing a slice of orange texture.
- At 14:05, I'm applying downloaded pattern to my mesh.
- At 15:38, you can see the result ingame with the working animation :)
Let me know if you like that kind of videos and seeing the process and what would you be interested to see in the future !
