Mac is named after Rob Mac too. From what I remember, they wanted Glenn to be Glenn as well but he didn't want that so they went with Dennis which is similar-ish.

2025-11-07 19:29:18 +0000 UTCMy best guess is that Charlie being named Charlie on the show is a similar thing to Ray Romano being Ray on his show and Jerry Seinfeld being Jerry on Seinfeld. He’s one of the creators, so he got a character named after him.
