Lastly, I like to bring in British history for you guys whenever I can. The UK and Churchill absolutely did help in the Pacific, and eventually amassed their own huge Pacific fleet (the BPF, British Pacific Fleet) because the Empire lost a ton of territory to the Japanese. The British sent SIX fleet aircraft carriers and all the support ships to the Pacific to help, which at any other time would've been the largest most powerful fleet on earth. Unfortunately, the US cranked out 151 aircraft carriers alone during WWII after joining two years deep into the war. The US shipbuilding output in WWII is truly staggering - by the end of the war, we had nearly 7 thousand warships and support ships built mostly in just four years. The Royal Navy cranked out ships like crazy too, but the industrial power of the US during WW2 is unrivaled in human history. Royal Navy sailors described it (there's awesome video interviews of this) like watching an endless parade of aircraft carriers and battleships/cruisers/destroyers/destroyer escorts that they felt they could walk across the entire Pacific on US ships

Just finishing up this watch, and something to point out is we give so much well deserved respect to the D-day beach landings at Normandy, but for the Marines in the south Pacific, they had to do opposed beach landings (the most difficult of all infantry maneuvers) on almost every single island they invaded except for Guadalcanal. I hate to tell you guys this and no spoilers (can't really spoil extremely well known history), but it's gonna get much worse for them. Much, much worse.
