René Auberjonois played Sweet Dee's high school drama teacher; that actor was also on a great sci-fi series in the mid-'90s called Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Additionally, the principal at the school was played by Dave Foley, a member of the brilliant HBO/Canadian sketch comedy show and troupe, The Kids in the Hall.
