Jorah is the son of Jeor Mormont Lord Commander of the Knights Watch. Their house motto is "Here we Stand". It's a defining moment for Jorah, we see his loyalty begin to switch, remember up to this point he's been spying for King Robert in the hopes to get a pardon.

Since you two are Brits, maybe you'll remember your history classes from secondary school? Not sure if you guys picked up that Stark=York, Lannister=Lancaster, etc. With that, maybe you can figure out who Daenerys is inspired by..?
