He was just the kings personal guard that’s why he was so close to the king and that’s why he’s called the king slayer as well so its meant to be the worst thing imaginable for the protectors of the king.

The castle seat of the Reach is Highgarden.

2025-09-20 22:11:40 +0000 UTCThe Lannisters are absolutely ruthless and (as you pointed out) calculative, and most always secure their wins and triumphs trough deceit in order to end any kind of conflict as decisievly as possible. Examples are Jamie stabbing the Mad King in his back rather than challenging him in to a fight, Tywin masking his invasion of King’s Landing as support and Tywin (again) lashing out at Jamie for not killing Ned Stark in the streets of King’s Landing when he was wounded.

2025-09-19 02:00:36 +0000 UTCyou are right that the show leaves out a whole lot of lore and worldbuilding from the books (and later down the line, unfortunately simplifies the plot itself a lot too, after like season 4), these videos youre watching here do a nice job of giving some of that information that couldnt be included in the main show. i'd never seen it before here (i knew stuff from the books anyway) but from watching it here i think it makes a great companion piece to the show.
