The answer to the kids thing was said and almost the same sentences. The question was posed. Katniss said I don’t see any children prim said that’s because there was a plague that killed off most of them coin lost her own family.

2025-09-08 07:10:08 +0000 UTCDuring the "punishable by death" speech, that was President Snow's granddaughter, who said in the previous film, "someday I want to love someone that much" and had started wearing her hair side braided due to Katniss, removing her side braid because it was now banned. Even his own granddaughter was worried. Snow is evil.

If you’re interested in the story Finnick was telling during his broadcast, the first prequel (Of Songbirds and Snakes) is about a young President Snow and has a lot more backstory As far as the children, Prim mentioned in passing that there was some kind of outbreak that took out a lot of children and made a lot of the adults infertile. They’re trapped underground, so I imagine an epidemic would spread pretty easily. She also mentioned that Coin lost a daughter and husband in that outbreak District 13 also used to be a part of Panem, so presumably the Capitol’s outdated information is whatever layout existed when they still had access. They were the military district and supplied weapons and tech, which is also why they’re so efficient and structured I think Gale is a really good example of one of the ways that war can change a person, and that’s what I attribute to his character change. He always had an anger towards the capitol but the hatred really escalated the fighting progressed. Like when they first see Peeta onscreen, Gale defends him and says that they might be making him say those things. But then when he sees Peeta again later on, he calls him a traitor and was yelling about how he would never do that even if they tortured him, like his reaction was much harsher over time and around when his “we” became District 13
