Dragonstone is a small island and the ancestral seat of house Targaryen before Aegon’s conquest. Traditionally the heir to the throne is given the seat. Stannis was given Dragonstone by Robert after the Rebellion, in the room with the painted table (big map table) you can see the Dragon carved on the wall, in the scene with Davos and Salador on the beach in the background you can see some stone dragons :)

She worked near Winterfell, which is why Theon saw her regularly and Jon mentioned her in a story. She only met Tyrion the one time when he visited in S1, and he gave her the necklace as part of his payment. I think Ros only wears it because it looks expensive and would make her seem of higher status, but they don’t really have any sort of relationship

2025-09-09 09:03:05 +0000 UTCOh, the Lannisters have cousins on top of cousins. During the age of heroes the family was fruitful and their numbers exploded. Casterly Rock couldn't hold them all. But they have many first cousins as well. Lancel, the cousin Cersei is sleeping with, is the son of their Uncle Kevan who is Tywin's right-hand man and favorite brother. So, this guy was another cousin from somewhere in the tree. Littlefinger's grandfather was a poor hedge-knight who served one of the minor families in the Vale of Arryn. He did a good enough job that they gave him lordship of a few stony acres in the smallest peninsula of the Fingers. What's interesting about the Baelish family is that each generation manages to do a little better than the last one. Petyr's great-grandfather was just a sellsword (a mercenary) from Braavos. Petyr's father fought on the side of House Tully during a war. He impressed Lord Hoster Tully, who agreed to foster little Petyr at Riverrun as a reward. That's how Littlefinger "popped" up there and was raised alongside Catlyn, Lysa, and Edmure (who gave Petyr his mocking nickname). And we all know how that turned out. But ambition seems to run in his family. And now look at him! He's Master of Coin with a seat on the King's small council! Soooo weird. After dueling with Brandon Stark over Catlyn, nearly getting himself killed by Brandon, and embarrassing Lord Tully so much that he sent Littlefinger back to the Fingers as soon as he was healed enough, he still somehow got the job as Master of Coin. The craziest thing about this episode is the shot of Jon sharpening LongClaw with a whetstone. LongClaw is a Valyrian steel sword. Spell-forged in Old Valyria before the Doom. Part of their magic is they retain a wicked sharp edge. You CAN'T sharpen them because you'll accidentally slice through your whetstone and take your hand off. When we see Ned in the godswood in episode 1, he's just oiling his sword, Ice, with a cloth. There's a companion book to the main story called A History of Ice and Fire. One of the interesting stories in it is about the Lannisters. Almost all the major families in Westeros have a Valyrian steel sword they bought from Valyria ages ago. All except House Lannister. For reasons the fans are still speculating on, The Valyrians wouldn't sell to House Lannister for the longest time. Then they finally managed to buy one and named it "Brightroar". I believe the price they paid would've been enough "to raise an army". And then it was lost when an ancient King of the Rock took it with him trying to explore Valyria after the Doom. Neither the king or the sword ever came back. Now that there's no more Valyria, the ability to forged these blades has been lost. This has made Valyrian steel scarce and very very valuable. Tywin has been trying to buy a sword from impoverished families in Westeros who still have them. But no matter how bad off they are, none of them would sell their Valyrian swords to him.
