Yeah, Doc's motivation was definitely the weakest part of this movie. He went from being this one dimensional cold-hearted criminal mastermind who threatened Baby's loved ones and meant it to flat out sacrificing himself for pretty much no reason outside of that one line. My guess is they either filmed some scenes that laid out his motivations and edited them out for time or they couldn't film them because of Spacey's schedule or something. I don't know. Other than that the movie was fantastic and it still worked, so oh well.

Not surprised you haven't heard about the movie before. It really has flown under the radar despite how good it is. The first 20 minutes are even better though if you have no idea what you jumping into as it just takes you off on a ride from there. As for Jon Bernthal's character still being alive, the last thing he says before he leaves is "if you don't see me again -- then it's because I'm dead." Doc said he doesn't use the EXACT SAME crew twice, but he mixed and matched who he used. When Doc said his two inside sources had "nasal problems" he meant cocaine addicts. But yeah there's a ton in that movie when you go back and rewatch that is hidden in the background or in the lyrics of the songs that are chosen. There's crazy speculation of whether they doing Baby Driver 2 or not. There's a lot of fans who make mock trailers. Maybe someone else here knows if it's a legit project or not.
