From the perspective of the characters, I think Roy inviting them to the wedding was pretty innocent; mainly just a way to show there were no hard feelings. From the writers' perspective, I think it was a tool they used to sow some seeds into Jim and Pam's story line. It allows Jim to see that even Roy grew up and branched out beyond the warehouse. And it allowed the storyline of Jim's big secret to be pushed forward.

When you edit this one, watch how Jim hid the screen from Pam when he answers the phone....pretty suspicious fir a couple with no secrets.
