Hey, adventurers!
Here's a set of the newest previews for you! I'm going to try out a new release approach (smaller but more frequent releases) and planning to have 0.2.1 ready for Patreon release later this month.
If you're in our Discord, you might have noticed that I've substituted the roadmap with an up-to-date changelog. That way you guys can see what has already been done, and I am not shackled by an oversized plan that can't be completed in a timely manner. Hopefully it should make releasing updates more frequently easier for me since I wouldn't need to delay them in favor of "this one more feature/plot point I promised to deliver."
The changelog currently looks like this:
Technical:
Save patching system will now raise an error if the save is corrupted or patching failed, preventing corrupted saves from being playable. New error screen, new console screen
Game menu is now animated
Adventuring:
Added Rem as a playable character. A strong offense hero, her kit revolves around inflicting Bleed with her Morning Star, stacking action points in Demon Form, exploiting ice weaknesses and finishing off bleeding enemies en-masse
Proceeding to the next floor of a dungeon will now make an autosave; recovering from errors and reloading a save will no longer send you all the way back to the start
Added some additional animations and SFX for the UI
Improvements to the lighting system
Fear tooltip is now slightly brighter to improve readability
Balancing:
Aqua's Blessing now has two more potential upgrades: Divine Rush, doubling the bonus speed, and Divine Compulsion, which immediately grants an action point to the target. The AOE upgrade now longer reduces the skill's effectiveness, but instead increases the manacost
All out attacks now have 100% armor piercing, making them even more beneficial against tougher opponents
A great number of abilities applying status effects will now benefit from boosts and will correctly convey that in the menu
Minor changes:
QOL of life changes to the inventory screen, skill upgrade screen and stats screen. It is now easier to switch between them, easier to select a character, and changes to loadouts/skills will now persist if players save the game after exiting the menu
When returning from the Labyrinth, the hint message will now clarify that you'll have to start over
Buying consumables will no longer prompt the confirmation screen, making it a lot easier to buy in bulk
Portable toilets are now purchasable
Added a version number display into the bottom left corner
Minor model changes for Aqua, Yunyun, Rin, Kazuma and Dust
Performance improvements
