It took everyone to beat two of the common "grunts" (Arnold needed buffs for one and the rest took on the other). When they saw the piles of corpse left by the Grievers (Ansem, Lucia, Luke), it was mistaken for Krai's work. Liz was indeed out of town for the dragon fight, but her fanservice segments were just her nude sneaking into Krai's bed, trying to rile him up while he's trying to ignore her and sleep.
