Hi Guys!
So today (aside from a day job meeting - which was the last with that client! Starting to be able to wind things down more!) I've been working on getting texture and rocks down on the bulk of the tiles. I also painted a few of the details like the skulls there and some fish, a dead skellie and a golden crown... but that's for later :)
As you can see I've been using the technique I showed in the basing video to create detailed textures for the different surfacing materials, and also used it to smoothly sink the rocks into and make them appear far more natural than you tend to get with modelling compound...
I've also have a chance to test making this material with mod podge instead of pva glue, and it solve all the cracking problems the mix had in the basing video :) So if that was something that bothered you - now it's fixed and you can just use this mix instead 😄
I'm very happy with the results so far - hopefully tomorrow we'll have some finishing materials down to show off!
Right, I'm off back to play with more mud :D
