The board is set. The pieces are magnetised...

Hi Guys!

Aside from wondering how many more LOTR update titles I can pull off, I've been very busy recording the majority of the crafting, magnetising EVERYTHING and getting the workspace upgrades with new wall sockets for lighting etc...mainly so I don't trip over endless extension cables and injure myself. Quite as much, at least πŸ˜‚

I'm also working on getting a ventilation system installed that won't leave the workspace frigid in winter or expose it to more noise from the road...harder than you might think, but I'm getting there πŸ˜„

As you can see in the pictures here, the pieces are all strongly magnetised and will hold up even heavy minis (within reason, looking at you Arveiaturace...) on large outcroppings, and can even be picked up with one hand!

they work perfectly with existing cave tiles, blend together much better than the previous era of mountainblocks, work with magnetic accessories and wall climbing minis - and best of all?

The facings of ALL pieces are totally removable. you want a desert set? go ahead, you can re-use the core magnetised 'block', and just add a new facing with one little 3x2 magnet. and the facings are much thinner and easy to store in dungeon tile storage drawers...

Mountains and caves in deserts, red martian landscapes, dirt covered mud-mounds/tunnels, steep grassy banks, black volcanic rocks, crazy multicolour planar caves in limbo - all with one set of tiles, and one cost in magnets.

Oh, and they use HALF as many magnets as my previous magnetised version, with no noticeable loss in strength. AND the magnets are far better hidden. AND you can have natural looking bulges and dips in square blocks now without issues!

This might have taken a while to get around to doing - but the wait has been well worth it as my brain had more time to work on it on the side πŸ˜‚

So what do you guys think? I kinda love them 😁

Hi Lee, eBay :) though the stuff is NOT nicely angled for cutting, you need to cut like every facing to get 90 degrees on each side - fair warning!

Hey Matt, where did you get your styrodur? I'm from the UK too.

I'm aiming for the end of the week ish, I'm getting early flu symptoms so I'm trying to get it done before it hits properly but I can't promise anything :)

Heyo! When do you think a video on making these will come out? :)
