Sherwood forest inspiration pics!

Hi again guys!

Thought I'd split this into a separate post given...quite how many pictures are here 😂

These pictures are from my phone camera when I went to the forest in 2019, because my visit this year...did not go to plan! Feel free to ignore this bit and just look at the pretty pictures if you're not curious - I'm just sharing for those who are :)

So. The Holiday....

As you probably know, me and Faye have long COVID, and are both worried about our immune systems. We had HOPED this holiday would be an opportunity to sit outside in peaceful woodland and build up our strength with short walks...

But when we arrived, we were told there was a bird flu outbreak. And there are ducks and geese EVERYWHERE.

For context, bird flu is low risk to humans, but can infect, and even kill us in rare cases. As both me and Faye are currently examples of 'rare cases' with COVID weakened immune systems we didn't feel comfortable wading through potentially infected birds, bird feathers etc, and would probably have been stuck inside the lodge all week, defeating the point of the holiday...

SO, we got a refund (thankfully) as they hadn't warned us before arrival, and went straight back home! Not a great first day, but we did get a 'day out' to a lovely little leather and woodwork shop in Sherwood - so at this point we took that as a win at least :)

The rest of the week we tried to do what we would have done on holiday, but at home, which honestly was not quite as lovely but still very good for my recovery I think - so thank you all for being patient with updates while I was away!

I hope the midweek scheduled one kept you sated - and I'm now back with plenty more to post 😁
