Safety, Scripts and Secret projects....

Hi Guys!

So I've been busy all week working on a few different things.

Quick shout out for the Discord Paint Party being run by Zarakk tonight at 7-11pm BST (1-5pm CST) - I may be showing up depending on energy levels :)

First and I think most important I've been working on building shelves, an insulation/heated/temperature controlled box and general 3d printing area in the garage - so I can print things for the channel without fumigating myself where I work 😢

The fact I managed to do this at all is a great sign I'm getting better, this kind of physical work would have knocked me out for a week not long ago! It did stop me from working full days, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I expected, which is great news :)

I got the first test running yesterday and it came out perfectly - actually better I thought than when I printed in the house. I think that might be to do with the insulation box keeping the temp at 25-30 degrees as recommended by many resins, not the 20 degrees of most houses..or noticeably less overnight!

Once I have the ventilation of the area set up I'll be showing it off in a full video alongside other safety features of my workspace and my advice on what to use and how to keep yourself as safe as possible while working. The precautions I've mentioned so far like masks will work, but these tips will help you make life a bit easier :)

The reason I decided to sort this out now is I increasingly use 3d printing to add little details and optional extras to builds, not to mention some more interesting optionally-printed parts of future builds. getting this safe area set up means I can do this without worrying about my health...

Other than that, I've also been collating my various tips and knowledge most relevant to those just starting with crafting - stuff like getting straight edges, right angled cuts, FIXING THE PROXXON, how to get a feel for crafting without a proxxon, what to buy first (inc 'starter' shopping lists on the equipment list), the various features/pitfalls/tricks to do with the wide range of glue we use, effective use of tin foil texturing (more complex than it seems...), getting a better paintjob (priming, drybrushing, washing) and finally some of the best ways to place magnets.

I'll be covering terrain sealing in a full video later...

I've pulled all these together in a somewhat long script that I think will pop out another big (ish) video, albeit one with minimal actual crafting. I'm hoping that means I can get it done a lot faster, and move on to the next one...

Finally, I've been working on the 'secret project' I keep mentioning, doing a lot of designing and concepts and working with someone new to (hopefully) deliver some new bonus perks for patrons that you guys can get a lot out of :)

Essentially, I want to give you guys something back for helping keep the channel going, and reinvest your support into something that benefits the community we've been building here...

I hope that's a nice insight into what I've been getting up to, and I'll see you all next week (or possibly tonight! we'll see...)
