STL legal disclaimer - what you can and cannot do with them :)
Added 2023-04-21 08:45:21 +0000 UTCHi guys,
So to make sure the channel is protected against piracy and misuse among other things I've got a legal disclaimer sorted for the STL files :) it's available in the Patreon about section, which is now linked in the tiers under the STL section, and is in a PDF in all MMF uploads.
The test is below, but the gist is you CAN send it to someone to print ONLY for you specifically, as long as they delete the file after :) Other forms of sharing/selling are not ok, which I think is pretty normal!
Disclaimer below:
The 3D printing files provided on this website are for personal use only. You are allowed to share the file with another individual or a printing company for the purpose of printing for yourself only, and the file must be deleted after printing. The end resulting items may not be sold, distributed, or commercially exploited. You are not allowed to sell, distribute, or commercially exploit these files without prior written consent from the owner. The files are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. In no event shall the owner be liable for any damages arising from the use of these files.
By downloading and using these files, you agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend the owner from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, expenses and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or relating to your use of these files.
This legal disclaimer is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in the event of any dispute.
Hopefully this clears things up for anyone not sure about this sort of thing!
Matt

This is the is mainly a legal protection against people selling my stuff as their own or pirating it and sharing it with anyone and everyone :) If you're using my Stls for yourself, you're fine!
