1 week animation loop challenge - day 4

Halfway thru the week! Got a bit less done than I hoped for today, but that's only because I had a new idea this morning about the graffiti that im excited about :3 feeling pretty sleepy rn, was hoping to keep going tonight but im just gonna pick it all back up in the morning. Today I started by trying to figure out what graffiti I wanted on the walls! I had taken some pics in the bathroom at a diy venue recently and was just gonna use that for some reference as to what I could write and different ways to write it. But then I realized - wait! I know furrys who tag regularly, and better yet they know a lot of other people who tag as well! How cool would it be if all the graffiti in the shot was done by people in the community

If you've ever been to Pittsburgh and have been south of downtown, you might have noticed how much furry stickers and graffiti is all around that area. walking around that area 2 weeks ago, I saw a lot of furry tags and ashleyninelives was walking with us and pointing them all out to us and telling stories as they personally knew a few of them. So today I started asking friends for pictures of tags they use and ones other people in pittsburgh or elsewhere that they know of use, and I got quite a few, including many of the ones that I recognized from my time in pitts! it was kind of neat talking and asking their permission today having known them only from seeing their tags out in the wild. I got a bout 10-15 tags to use now and Im really excited that all the graffiti youll see in the bg represents real tags by furs that you would see out and about

That kinda took up a lot of my morning. I was also painting the floor and walls their base colors too while waiting for responses. I went for a lot of pale browns and creams and I believe under greenish/yellow tinted fluorescent lighting itll look good! I didnt paint directly on the posterboard because 1: it would make drawing all the graffiti difficult, and 2: it makes the boards warp when they get wet with paint so its better to just glue paper on top when theyre ready

Edit: i think i might repaint the walls lol im second guessing and i worry it won't look enough like a bathroom stall w these colors and i don't think it'll complement the graffiti enough lol

now for the really difficult part. I had to somehow include all these tags in some way without them getting covered up in the shot by the characters or the props or the framing of the camera. at first I took and recreated a lot of the graffiti I got sent digitally and then I printed it out to see how it would fit. but then I realized I need to dry fit all the characters and set up the camera im going to use in the right spot so I could truly know what my blindspots are. that took a long time trying to set the camera in the way that matched up with the art the best. eventually I got it near where it needs to be at. doing this informed me about so much and now I know where I can make adjustments and where i can place the rest of the graffiti on the left wall too. I think it kind actually looks pretty cool all black and white. but I know its gonna look cooler all colored hehe. Heres what my test looked like:

definitely have lots of work to do here but its becoming real!!!
I got too sleepy tonight at this point so im gonna call it here. I wanted to actually paint on the graffiti today but that will have to wait and I will have to catch back up tmmr

goodnight everypuppy!!!
