Dear friends,

I have updated the commercial license. I retain the right to modify and alter the license, with proper notification and the corresponding change log.

I would be delighted to see my maps in your commercial products, so please share it with me.

Using the Map Doctor battle maps in Commercial Products

Commercial license is available to all active Map Doctor Patreon subscribers.
You can use any map at your current active subscription level.
Your subscription must be without the monthly limit.
The license is valid to use as long as you are an active Map Doctor subscriber.
You may edit, alter and mix maps, but make sure it's recognizable as Map Doctor maps and properly watermarked and attributed.
I don't expect you to be subscribed to my Patreon forever after you used the maps, but I require you to be subscribed at least until the creative and marketing phases of your commercial projects end. License is still valid after you unsubscribe, but a level of collegiality is expected.
Please send me an email at mapdoctor7@gmail.com whenever you used my maps commercially. I would love to see the final product.

Usage example: If you are using our $3 'Physician' tier maps in your product, you must to be a $3 'Physician' patron and so on. If you're using variant only available at $5 'Specialist' tier, you have to sign up for that tier to commercially use it.

Watermark and attribution

To use the battle maps in any written, or other published form, you are obliged to use a battle map with a signature (watermark).
Size of the watermark is up to you, and you should place it in the bottom-right corner. However, you can place it on any corner of the map if it interferes with the showcase.
Do not change hue, transparency or font of our watermark. I provided several watermark versions, so that you could use the one most fitting.
At the end of the post, you'll find Map Doctor Logo Pack PNG files of my watermark, so you can add it to your maps prior the usage.
Attribution is the action of ascribing a work or remark to a particular author, artist, or person and it is necessary to use my maps commercially.

To attribute me properly, do the following:

Map Doctor brand name in the credits as a cartographer with a working link to "patreon.com/mapdoctor"
Working link to "patreon.com/mapdoctor" on the visible spot near the map.

Restrictions on use

Commercial license does not include any written content (adventures, encounters, monsters) that may be published on my Patreon.

Commercial license does not include the maps made exclusively in collaboration with other artists.

Following is prohibited:

Altering the battle maps in a way where it doesn't look like Map Doctor product anymore or it includes offensive assets/messages.
Usage of Map Doctor maps to sell physical merchandise.
Sub-licensing, selling, leasing the battle maps, as well as use it as logo or identity
Use of the battle maps in a way that can be considered generally offensive, obscene or immoral is strictly prohibited. This means the battle maps are not available within any material that promotes racism, homophobia, transphobia or bigotry of any kind.
Using commercially Death House, Spellhold, or any battle maps of other creators I covered. These are my adaptation of the Wizards of the Coast's intellectual property.

Exceptions for streaming

If you plan to use my battle maps in a video, stream or podcast, on Twitch, Youtube or similar video platforms, you do not need to obtain this license and you may use the non-watermarked versions of the battle maps on your streams.
However, a placed watermark, a shout-out, and a link to our Patreon are highly appreciated.

Further use requests

For commercial usage of the maps without watermark, you are obliged to reach out to me directly and ask for permission.
Same applies for the crowdfunding projects.
