Where the F*** have I been the last year and a half?

Hello again, Party Peeps. It's been a minute.

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who'd messaged me for their concerns.

The past 18 months had been rough, personally. 2020 happened, and then happened again in 2021. I lost a parent, I'd fallen out with some long-time friends in a bad way, I'd lost much of my own sense of stability and self worth. The idea of being creative had become largely impossible, and I'd all but lost interest in supporting myself on a basic level. I was at a very deep low for a very long time.

As time passed and I'd moved into a better place, I'd really only then realized just how bad the way I'd been living had been. One that I had been frustrated with and complaining about for years, but was too scared to leave it out of fear of having nothing else. I was able to reconnect with some truly fantastic friends whom I'd not talked to in a while, to travel abroad and spend some truly special moments with some dear friends. To feel cared for again, to feel again what it was like to be trusted and accepted and valued again. To feel a little bit of what normal felt like. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that they kept me going when I'd become indifferent about myself, and for that I'm so very grateful.

Over the last couple of months I've been working to build myself up again as someone I love. Trying to pick up good habits again that had been lost in the quagmire. Trying to confront some long-term issues I'd been putting off. Trying to not be afraid to even look at art and comics again.

I'd started working on Dancer's Reflection Ch.2 again, regaining my interest in the story and characters again, and my love for drawing Molly. With the help of some enthusiastic friends I've been able to nearly nail down the rest of the script, and I've begun roughing out the next 4 pages. I should have something to show for it soon.

So I would like to extend a thank you to all of those who stuck around during these tougher times, and for caring about me and what I do.

Thank you.

Also in case you weren't aware, I posted a question under page 47 of dancer's reflection about 5 months ago.

I'm really glad you got out of that situation and found a place you feel good about. We've talked about this, but again, if there's anything at all I can do let me know. I was so pleased to see you the other day in the FA comments, thinking you might be back. Glad it seems that way. I'm always around if you wanna hang. Stream, talk, whatever. Take your time man. Work at your pace, and don't consider this post a deadline or promise of any sort. Just a personal goal. You got this.

CoraBlue

At least you are safe and sound and that is what matters

Garuger

Glad to hear you're doing ok now, It sounds like you've been through some rough times. I say this often, but I always mean it: take your time, many of us will be here when you are ready.

Keimori

This is *EXCELLENT* news! :D I always get really worried when someone suddenly goes quiet, especially during dark times, so I'm happy to hear you're doing better. The past two years have been rough, for some far more than others. Having the right people in and around your life can make all the difference in the world (both during such times, and when recovering from them), so it's good to hear you've found them! :D Take your time coming back; we'll wait for you. You're always worth it ;)

eqlipse

Good to have you back.

Vexches

Glad you got to a better place! Can't wait for more art from you again. Missed you a lot

I mean hey, no one draws transformation stuff quite as well as you do in this community. Even the best rides will have bumpy roads, it's important to remind ourselves of that and focus more on the times ahead than the bumps in the moment.

That's great news. Healing is is a journey and it's not linear. Do be patient and kind with yourself as those who've stayed near you have as well. Lots of people will be happy to see your work again, too. It's even better that you're going to be happy with yourself again.

K-Libra

I admit i was worried and it never easy to get out of those holes. So be proud you are doing well and if you need more time take it. We can wait. And as a random bonus from germany *hug*

glad to hear you're doing okay, wish the the best and hope that things go smoothly from here on out

wannabee

Glad to hear from you, and even more glad to hear that you are doing better. No matter what else, at the end of the day you have to do what is best and healthiest for you. If that involves producing the art we all enjoy, that's wonderful. If that's not the path for you to find happiness, that's fine. You've got to take care of you before anything else.

minoan

Thank you for the update I'm glad things are getting better for you

Zombie Power Drink

Really happy to hear from you! As a creator myself (one who moves at a snails pace) I know emotional stability is a huge part of finding your voice and motivation as an artist. Really excited to see what you make next. Also FYI I frequently go back and look at art you've made because there's just nothing else like it. πŸ’œ
