you're right ok. so thorfinn wasn't involved, but he mimicked the behaviours and actions of the people that Einar hated the most which is justification enough for his hatred/anger at himm

2023-12-05 03:58:09 +0000 UTCTo me, this season is way way better than the first season! Im sure you're going to like it too. It's such an underrated show. Also, Thorfinn wasn't involved in both times that the soldier burned down Einar's village. The first time Einar said was by the English army which Thorfinn wasn't because he was a pirate with Askeladd and his crew. The 2nd time Einar says was by the army of King Sweyn which was Canute's father and also we can see from episode 1 of season 2 that Thorfinn wasn't there because he was already a slave by that time. Einar is slightly older than Thorfinn so he would have known Thorfinn if he was involved. Thorfinn was just relating to what he had done when he was a pirate. He pillaged and burned villages so now he is face to face with the victim of those acts.

2023-12-02 22:29:38 +0000 UTCCanute did free Thorfinn after Askeladd was killed but then Thorfinn attacked Canute and left a scar on his cheek. Canute could not turn a blind eye due to the civivilians watching and so as punishment he made him into a slave and of course because Thorfinn was so empty and depressed because of Askeladd's death he did not fight
