I understand his intentions but the way he keeps treating her differently than he would others is not ok. Also. Itsuomi is the biggest greenflag of a person ive ever seen in my life GOD HELP ME.

What actually is common, is whats happening in this show with her parents; they have found a way to communicate with yuki and are content with it. I have a friend that's hard of hearing and while her mom knows sign language to an extent, they barely communicate using it because they've developed other ways to communicate, which my friend prefers.
