Re:zero Episode 15
Added 2024-02-21 14:00:04 +0000 UTCfor all of you who voted for this show, fuck you guys [jk. not really] no but this show is breaking my heart AND MY SPIRIT. The way they manipulated Rem's body? That was so beyond fucking cruel and savage. Broccoli over there is also off his rocker, he needs to seek help. Seems like there's a cult-like following for the witch, and maybe the witch is Emilia's mom...
I can't lie though, it does annoy me how Subaru spent the entire episode just sitting there, but it's also super realistic to the severe trauma this kid is going through every single fucking day. Like what the fuck? Also, Rem, is an angel and must be protected, I love her so much. The way she loves him- she's too pure for this earth man.

2024-02-22 10:26:43 +0000 UTCSubaru's behaviour is very interesting from a psychological sense and quite realistic. I would say the extreme shock of what he saw at the mansion the 1st time nearly broke his mind and he sort of shutdown. This can happen in real-life also, its sort of like a subconscious self defence for the mind which needs time to process and recover. After days or weeks you could see a gradual recovery from this state as the brain sort of reboots for lack of a better word. Extreme physical shock could snap a person out of this sort of shutdown state, talking life or death lvl. In Subaru's case he suffers several blows to the head which would not help the situation (Carriage crash, and head slammed into rock) and so it was unrealistic that he could have physically done much of anything immediately after that crash and during the first few minutes after waking in the cave. You can see his vision is blurred when he first looks and sees Rem. By the time it actually starts to click in his mind that Rem is possibly about to die which is shocking enough to snap him into survival mode it was already too late. Really the only reason anyone can even judge Subaru's inaction during this episode is because Hollywood and other media has constantly shown completely unrealistic bullshit which is more superhuman than human. I might even doubt a highly trained solider (Navy Seal, SAS, etc..) could mentally handle this level of trauma and do any better. Humans are fragile both physically and mentally, Subaru's ability to push through mental trauma is actually more to the Superhuman level. 100 average people going through this same situation, I would doubt if even one would be able to handle it even with the knowledge of being able to do it again (which is more like a torture than a gift). Hope you enjoyed my essay 😅

2024-02-22 03:36:06 +0000 UTCSomething that isn't conveyed quite as well as it is in the novels is that Subaru wanted something to be wrong and for Emilia to be in danger so that he could swoop in and be the hero. So when he arrived at the mansion and saw everybody brutally killed he felt an immense guilt for wishing it would happen. Hence the "This isn't what I wanted"
