86: EIGHTY SIX EP 3
Added 2024-04-03 13:58:11 +0000 UTCdude that post credit scene was beyond brutal. that was actually agonising. I have no words but the fact that district one has every fucking right to feel the way that they do. They deserve better, and even if Lena is trying to do her best, it won't do anything for them. She's still part of an organization and a group that continues to oppress them. It will never be enough.

The whole situation with Laughing Fox’s words at the end just sucks for both sides. For the ones forced to fight, many can’t even conceive the idea that any of the Alba are redeemable because of the atrocities the society put those in District 86 through and it doesn’t matter of Lena was a part of that directly or not. And for her part, she cannot help but be in a privileged position but is trying so hard to unshackle herself from the very obvious indoctrination those her age and younger are being put through, but with no resources that create a fast change.

2024-04-04 15:54:53 +0000 UTCIn the first episode, most of the members of Pleaiades squadron didn't even have callsigns. They responded just to a letter and a number (A-1, A-2, etc). If you somehow manage to survive enough time you "earn" the right to have a callsign (and in Spearhead Squadron all of them are experienced). Striping the 86 of their names is just another form of dehumanization by the Republic... And I guess it makes easier to send kids to their deaths. Because THEY are kids. In the anime they don't mention their ages, but right now Shin is a "veteran" (¡!) with 16 years old... (same age as Lena btw). The Republic is truly rotten to its core.

2024-04-03 19:27:27 +0000 UTCLena may be trying her best, but it's like she can't escape her own privilege. It's the little things, such as how she asks the cat's name before theirs... Also, Kaie not wanting to get her feet wet in the river, just for her to then end up dying because she wounded up in Wet Lands :/

I doubt many here would fault you if you felt like needing a break occasionally, at least not anyone whose opinion is worth much of anything ^^
